  • Eastlake Bonita Motorcycle Ride, February 13, 2010

    staging at temecula shells stationYesterday, the club did a ride south to the Eastlake Bonita area of San Diego County, for lunch at The Brewhouse at Eastlake.

    It was probably the warmest/sunniest day of 2010 thus far, with temperatures reaching into the 70s.

    We counted 14 bikes in all that made the ride.

    The route went along some the more twisty roads in San Diego County, Rice Canyon, Mesa Grande, Hwy 79 (south of Julian), as well as some of the easier back roads like Japatul Valley Rd, Lyons Valley Rd, Honey Springs Rd, Otay Lakes Rd.

    Last Saturday the club held its first "big group" ride of 2010.

    This one took us up and over the Santa Rosa Mountains, and down into the desert town of La Quinta. Highway 74, also known as "The Palms to Pines Highway", was impassable just a week ago after storms dumped over a foot of snow.
