Ride to Camochos for dinner

Mar

To anyone interested;
Diane and I are going to El Centro for dinner at what(in my opinion) is the best mexican restaurants around it's called Camochos Place, here is a link to it. ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/camachos-place-el-centro ) There's a lot of history to it and it's family owned and on it's 3rd generation I think it's been around for about 60yrs

SO HERE'S THE INFO.

We're leaving 3/27 and coming back 3/28 it's only about 175 miles down there & 200 back, but we want to see Salvation Mtn. & Diane feels her life wont be complete if she doesn't see the Salton Sea alas Bombay Bch and I believe there is a bar there to wet your whistle,, I figure by the time we get down there, see everything have dinner and a few beers I aint' gona wana ride back, so a jacuzzi and bed sound better (if anyone wants to go back the same day your welcome to do so).

The ride back is going to be out old hiway 80 maybe down to Barrett Jct and back up toward Julian depending on time and weather. I've booked a room @ the Best Western/John Jay Inn in El Centro for us (760)337-8677 the room is $79.99+tax if your with AAA or AARP or older then dirt/55+ there is a 24hr cancellation if plans change.

Had a great time. Joe took us to places off the beaten path that you'd never know about elsewhere, like the bar in Bombay Beach, and Camacho's Place. Camacho's Place has some unique stuff like deep-fried quesadillas, and enchiladas that are topped with fried eggs.

On the way back home, we did a lot of twisties, Hwy 94, Honey Springs Rd, Japatul Valley Rd, Lake Cuyamaca, Wynola Rd, Mesa Grande.

I just added a bunch of photos here too.
