Privateers Garage in Carlsbad is holding a "Brake Clinic" tonight at 6:00pm. I'm going to head over there. I probably know must of the stuff covered in this clinic, but then I'm usually ready to get out of the house around that time.
Topics will include:
1. How to tell when it is time to change the brake pads
2. What really are the differences between different pads (sintered, not sintered, etc)?
3. What are the benefits of using steel braided brake lines?
4. How to bleed brakes
They have a registration form to sign up, but it appears the form isn't working...

Anyways, if you plan to attend, please say so and I'll meet you at the Shell Station in Temecula, at 4:30pm.
Sorry for the late notice!

I went with Steve to this. It was nice if you're a beginner at working on your bike (like me), but I would guess it was overly simple for someone that has changed a lot of bike brakes before.
They went over different types of brake pads and cables, and what why you would use them. Then they demonstrated changing brake pads and different methods of getting the air out of the lines.
Next month they will be doing a suspension clinic.
The guys running the shop seem very helpful. They do seem to be more sport bike oriented, although I'm sure any bike is welcome.
I'm going to take my triumph there and have them help me with my suspension setup.
After the clinic, we went to Pizza Port (big surprise) however it was way too crowded.
We ended up having dinner and a beer at San Marcos Brewery & Grill (home of the blandest beer in all of southern california).
