I'm not sure if this even qualifies as an "accident", just plain sad...

"A group of eight motorcycles stopped at a red light in north Phoenix were mowed down from behind by a dump truck early Thursday afternoon, killing three riders and injuring six others, at least one critically, authorities said."

I gave our regards to the Arizona Motorcycle Group on behalf of HeatWave RidingClub on their Facebook Site that were hit at a stop sign by a truck on 3/25/10.

Heatwave Riding Club of Southern California is here to show support for the Arizona Biker Brothers & Sisters that were waiting for a red light and tragedy were struck dead, or critically injured! What a tragic event when they were just out for a roll on the slab! Our prayers and love are with the families of the fallen!!

Arizona Fallen (9)

Brothers & Sisters of Arizona Nine, ready to ride free in the sunshine
Sitting back behind the line, everything was fine
Smiles on your faces, the wind in your hair ...
Laughter, friends beside you without any care
Thinking of nothing stressful, nothing heavy to share
Each having their lives filled with family, love galore
Waiting for a red light, with no idea what was in store
In one quick moment you were all thrown into the air
March 25 2010, this day was just not fair
Now you have been badly hurt, even some taken away
This leaves us empty, not knowing what to say
We all cry, asking why that day? Now all we can do is pray

This is a Arizona meetup group. There's a first hand account of what happened in the link below. Here's a snippet:

"As we drifted along, I remember the distinct though of, "Oh, a couple people are heading back already. Boy, it's a nice day. I guess I'm making the right choice by staying on for the journey to the la...BAMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was that quick. It was the longest moment of impact I've ever experienced, and trust me, I know of what I speak. That collision lasted forever. I kept waiting for it to end. My boot was ripped off, and before I hit the ground I knew my leg was broken. I remember being hit by a wall, very uniformly across my back. My Bonneville was spun out to the left of me and I hit the ground."

Wow, I didn't realize it involved a Meetup group. Thanks for the heads up.
