Here's another advanced rider's course...
http://www.streetmasters.info/
Looking at the photos, it doesn't appear to be as advanced as the Lee Parks course that Mike and Jack took, at least by judging their photos. But perhaps focus more on the mechanics of tackling twisties. They teach on a track at Willow Springs. $350.00 for one day and food provided. They have a April 17 and May 15 class (Saturdays)
If anyone else would like to take this course, I'd be glad to go with you.
I'll sign up. April 17th is good for me.
I signed up today for the April 17 class. I'm going to make reservations at the Hampton Inn recommended by the site.

Cool. What day(s) are you staying at Hampton?
It's good enough for government work...
After reading this review, I think I may do this too.

The site says there is group discounts for 4 or more people.
The Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs sounds like a great place to spend the day.
Mike
I might be interested...at least then I can see your tail lights. April 17 might be good.
I just signed up today for the April class. They said they had several spots open. If you call, tell them you're in the Heatwave group. There's a 20% discount if we can get four or more to sign up.

I read the review Mike posted and it sounds great. Over coffee I brought it up to Lana, mentioned that it was $400 and she laughed out loud and mocked the idea. Over her shoulder as she left for work this morning she said she'd think it over, then laughed again.
You're invincible until God takes you out, so ride like hell, but live for heaven.
Steve, not sure where you saw $350, but I'm seeing $390. Maybe 350 is before track fees?
I signed up, so if one more person signs up, we'll have 20% off, so that would make it $312 based on $390.

The money either goes to get Dianes bike up and running or the advanced rider course...Diane won! Don't count me in.
I got a fourth rider. Wayne, a rider from a Goldwing forum has signed up with our group code.
Mike
we all should have got this email ... cool!!
Congratulations!
With Wayne's enrollment in the April class, your group now qualifies for the 20% discount for April. That means the cost to each of you is only $312.00.
We look forward to seeing you next month. We will be calling you soon for your credit card information.

Nancy Foote

Hampton Inn in Lancaster full, so I booked a room at the Hampton in in Palmdale (about 7 miles away).
I'm leaving from Glendale, early Friday afternoon to beat traffic. Hope to get up there by 4PM.

you think i should wash the bugs off my bike before i go? :)
i'll be playing it by ear on friday depending on the work load.

How was this rider training? Worthwhile?
Linda
Linda, I'd say Streetmasters is worth going to if you'd like to learn about "late apex" cornering, which is a way to handle twisties in a more effective and safe way. They also do some parking lot practice. And then, it's also fun to ride the Horsethief Mile forwards and backwards several times.

saw a post on the GW forums. looks like the guy who signed up with us switched back to a MT (from the Falken that Paul and I were riding on our trip) and slid out while accelerating to hard around a corner. he said that he got too used to the traction on the CT he was running for the last 3k miles.
