Well it figures! As soon as I buy my Scala Rider Q2 Bluetooth, they come out with the Scala Rider G4...

This one will stream music from an MP3 player, which my Q2 does not. And it has rider to rider communication up to one mile, whereas my Q2 has about 1,000 ft range.
Ordered my g4 from temecula motorsports today. Hope to get it before the arizona trip but don't have a lot of faith in temecula motorsports.

Wanna communicate with other riders?
Do what I do.
Flip 'em off.
Works up to 450 feet, so the range is limited, but the price is right.

Had a bad day brian?

Brought home my G4 Scala Rider and set it all up just to find out my "state of the art" smartphone (droid) can't initiate or answer calls via bluetooth!
My Itouch doesn't have bluetooth capability either, but I can hard wire it to the set. The sound quality is mediocre.
So I'm trying not to think that this might have been a bad investment. Just have to see how things work out.

What??? Droids don't support voice commands via Bluetooth? That should be a basic characteristic of any Bluetooth enabled phone.
It's good enough for government work...
I can receive calls by tapping a button on my Scala Rider--just tested that out with my daughter, but yeah the Droid lacks a significant capability.
Read an interesting post from CNET about how they've modified their review process (after missing that fact about the Droid) to make sure they look for that feature when reviewing smartphones.
Back to getting ready. . . .

So we should be able to do rider to rider strictly through the headsets. And I should be able to call your cell through the headset. And am I correct in saying that you can still speak through the Droid, you just can't issue a voice command?

Correct. I can receive your phone calls and have a conversation with you via bluetooth, just can't make calls by voice command through bluetooth.
We can communicate via the intercom as long as we're with range but we'll need to pair the two headsets first.

I searched the web quite a bit last year before my cross country trip. Wanted wireless telephone cinked with music source and gps as well as bike to bike communication. I ended up with the chatter box blue tooth version, iPhone and garmin 550. Music quality and volume stink! It was a big $$ investment it should have better quality.

So far, all the bluetooth music streaming seems to suck, probably because the headphone speakers are designed for voice, not music.

I too looked around for ways to connect all my stuff (iphone, garmin 550, Harley stereo system). The parts cost $640. Not sure I'd get that much use out of it, but it would be cool if it all worked together.
